Animation

For my animation I had originally decided to remake a song that I really liked but it turned into something a little different since the song would take to long and only doing a portion of it would make it seem incomplete. I decided to make the animation set around a morning sunrise setting in a city. I wanted the city to only be a shadow outline so that is why i made the graphic of just the outline of the city. I wanted birds to fly over briefly so I created a movie clip and and had the wings look up and down and had 3 layers for each of the birds. Then i also wanted stars because is tarted wanting the animation to look somewhat surreal, i thought it would be really cool to see stars in the morning during sunrise so i created another movie clip and had a small star shape tween into a larger star to give the appearance of a twinkle. I also had a really brief shadow of a creature lurking over the city which as very simple to create using the line tool and the pointer to cure along with the paint bucket to fill it in with black. Then i had to moon appear at the very end of the animation instead of the sun to be unexpected, to replay the animation I had a small bird appear similar to the flying birds before. I thought it would make a great replay button because when you click it the wings flap making it look like its flying. I enjoyed making it and i think it came out wonderfully.

Film Projects

I enjoyed shooting and coming up with the idea to do a film on the budget cuts with my partner Christina. We decided the film on budget cuts because it effects people so much now adays. I really wish we could have extended our film a little longer so we could go into depth about how everyone really felt and were effected by it. I felt like there could have been a lot more b-role but I was very focused on getting more testimonials so show how intense it was effecting students. I enjoyed it because it was something that I was passionate about and I was also able to lighten the mood at the end by having a funny fake interview with Justin Bieber. I also really enjoy using final cut pro but I wish I would have had a little more experience with transitions. Overall it was a great experience.

All I want is you

For my assignment I decided to use the music video by Miguel and J.Cole called "All I Want is You". The video opens up with a pan shot of the the top of the city at night which gave the feel of the video a gloomy, sad feeling which portrays the song very well. Then it goes to some very well placed cut scenes between the rapper and candids of the singer which to me shows the switch between the two and the coalition between the rap and song part of the music video. It also has a few sneak cut scenes to a girl off centered in the shot which to me is like a foreshadow of the song itself. The video itself it mostly cut scenes but i feel for this video ti was placed very appropriately to show the emotion of the singer and who he is talking about. Also the video had shits in different weather and different lighting or a darker filter to give a gloomy video> It was a wonfderful video and was shot to fit the song well

What I Hear Around Me

For my media 160 class i'm writing a blog about the sounds I hear around me. as of right now im currently in my room writing this blog and the predominate noise seems to be the keys on my keyboard clicking away and also the occasional pause to start a different type of clicking on the keyboard of my phone to text a few people. Besides that I hear a man speaking on the TV from the movie Cloverfield which I wasn't particularly fond of due to the filming technique(Camera was way to shakey.). I also hear a really loud buzzing from my AC which tends to override my TV at night which gets a little frustrating on top of the loud creaking my old house and bed tend to make with every move. This is about the same thing i hear every night I decide to sleep at home instead of my boyfriends, it's a lot quieter there.
